HA NOI (Biz Hub)– Shares rose in HCM City but fell back in Ha Noi this morning. On the HCM City Stock Exchange, the VN-Index closed at 504.70 points, a slight increase of 0.2 per cent compared to last Friday's session.
The VN30, tracking the city's 30 leading shares in terms of capitalisation and liquidity, also added 0.33 per cent to reach 558.38 points.
Private equity group Masan (MSN) grew by 3.8 per cent, while insurer Bao Viet (BVH) and PetroVietnam Drilling Services (PVD) added 3 per cent and commercial bakers Kinh Do (KDC) put on 2.4 per cent.
Meanwhile, the two new members of the VN30: Pha Lai Thermal Power (PPC) and Petrovietnam General Services Corp (PET) which just joined today, slid back by 0.4 and 1.3 per cent respectively.
The total trading value on the bourse reached VND820.4 billion (US$38.6 million) and 29.6 million shares changed hands.
On the Ha Noi Stock Exchange, the HNX-Index dropped 0.44 per cent to end at 62.88 points with only 11.4 million shares being traded for just VND86.9 billion ($4 million).
The HNX30, the northern exchange's top 30 stocks, was down 0.1 per cent, standing at 119.07 points. – VN
