Shares keep tumbling

HA NOI (VNS)— Shares tumbled for the third day in a row at this morning's session.

On the HCM City Stock Exchange, the VN-Index shed 0.5 per cent to 500.22 points.

Among the 30 leading shares in terms of capitalisation and liquidity, only PetroVietnam Finance (PVF), property giant Vingroup (VIC) and Vinh Son Song Hinh Hydropower (VSH) added value. Five other stocks closed unchanged, while the rest of the share closed trading in the red.

The VN30, tracking these shares, slipped 0.57 per cent to 552.77 points.

Trading value and volume were low, totalling only VND368 billion (US$17.3 million) and 21.5 million shares.

On the Ha Noi Stock Exchange, the HNX-Index finished at 62.19 points, a 0.3 per cent decrease.

As only 8.8 million shares changed hands, trading value reached VND75.5 billion ($3.5 million).

The HNX30, composed of the northern bourse's top 30 shares, also dropped 0.63 per cent to 116.03 points. —VNS
