HA NOI ― Shares continued to gain in Ha Noi this morning, but not in HCM City.

On the HCM City Stock Exchange, the VN-Index finished 0.86 per cent lower at 511.91 points. Decliners overwhelmed advancers by 119-75.

Profit-taking drove trading value up to VND1.18 trillion (US$56.1 million) with a surging volume of nearly 71.8 million shares.

Only seven of the blue chips tracked by the VN30 managed to rally. Five closed unchanged while the rest tumbled.

The index shed 0.57 per cent to reach 574.09 points.

On the Ha Noi Stock Exchange, the HNX-Index rose 0.7 per cent to 64.51 points.

Market value and volume improved to VND607.45 billion ($28.9 million) and 71.8 million shares.

The HNX30, composed of the bourse's 30 leading shares, increased 0.83 per cent to 125.62 points. ― VNS
