Shares hit record high in HCM City, fall in Ha Noi

HA NOI – On the HCM City Stock Exchange, the VN-Index finished this morning's session up 0.2 per cent to 522.50 points. For some minutes, it even reached more than 525 points, the highest level in three years.

Gainers outnumbered losers by 108-85. Trading value hit a record high of VND2 trillion (US$95.2 million), while trading volume hit 119.4 million shares.

The VN30, tracking the southern bourse's top 30 shares, put on 0.14 per cent to 585.53 points as half of these stocks advanced.

Meanwhile, on the Ha Noi Stock Exchange, the HNX-Index lost 0. 5 per cent to 64.82 points.

As more than 48.4 million shares were exchanged, trading value reached VND384.5 billion ($18.3 million.

Blue chips in Ha Noi drove the HNX30, representing the bourse's 30 largest shares, down 1.13 per cent to 126.28 points. – VNS
