Shares halt losing streak

HA NOI (Biz Hub)- Shares today ended a two-day tumble, rebounding on both stock exchanges.

On the HCM City Stock Exchange, the VN-Index gained 0.73 per cent to reach 474.89 points as advancers outnumbered decliners by 98-52.

Trading value and volume reached VND409.6 billion (US$19.3 million) and 23.78 million shares, respectively.

Blue chips performed well, helping the VN30 that tracks the city's top 30 shares up 0.56 per cent, to reach 528.62 points.

Eximbank (EIB), commercial baker Kinh Do (KDC) and food processor Bourbon Tay Ninh (SBT) slightly lost value.

On the Ha Noi Stock Exchange, the HNX-Index added more than 0.3 per cent to reach 60.40 points.

However, liquidity remained low with only 7.5 million shares worth VND55.6 million ($2.6 million) being traded.

The HNX30, composed of the southern exchange's 30 leading shares by capitalisation and liquidity, closed at 110.67 points, a 1.2 per cent rise compared to yesterday. - VNS
