Shares fall in morning trading

HA NOI (Biz Hub) — Shares fell on both the national stock exchanges this morning after yesterday's rebound and the volume of trading was very low.

On the HCM City Stock Exchange, the VN-Index lost 0.37 per cent to end at 556.68 points.

A modest 25.3 million shares were traded, worth VND368.6 billion or US$17.5 million.

The VN30-Index, tracking the southern bourse's top stocks by capitalisation and liquidity, closed 0.64 per cent lower to stand at 608.56 points.

Only three codes on the VN30 package managed to advance this morning, namely Becamex IJC (IJC), Vinamilk (VNM) and the PetroVietnam Low Pressure Gas Distribution Corporation (PGD).

On the Ha Noi Exchange, the HNX-Index fell by 0.93 per cent to close at 74.27 points, while the HNXFF-Index, comprising stocks with a minimum free float rate of 5 per cent, dropped 1.06 per cent to end at 74.63 points.

The HNX30-Index, tracking the top stocks, ended at 147.31 points, 1.29 per cent lower.

Only 18.8 million shares were traded, worth a modest VND173.7 billion or $8.2 million. — VNS
