HA NOI (Biz Hub) - Shares continued to rise this morning on both exchanges on solid investor confidence that the current rally will not stop soon.
The benchmark VN-Index climbed 0.92 per cent to stand at 525.69 points, supported by a rise in blue chips. They rose 0.54 per cent to 586.08 points on the VN30 (tracking the top 30 shares on the southern bourse).
On the HCM City Stock Exchange, more than 49 million shares worth VND849.3 billion (US$40.4 million) were exchanged by the end of the morning.
Vietinbank (CTG) led the market this morning with 3.55 million shares changing hands, growing another 5.08 per cent to VND20,700 (nearly $1) a share. This is its second rising session after it announced it was raising foreign holdings from 12.79 per cent to 30 per cent.
On the Ha Noi Stock Exchange, the HNX-Index also added 0.15 per cent to hit 65.43 points with the trading value reaching VND265.6 billion ($12.6 million).
Another bank share is dominating trades on the northern market with Sai Gon-Ha Noi Bank (SHB) being the most active code on trades of more than 5 million shares at the value of VND7,300 a share. - VNS
