HA NOI (Biz Hub) — Shares extended their gains this morning on both the national stock exchanges.
On the HCM City Stock Exchange, the VN-Index added 2.96 per cent or 0.55 points to end at 540.48 points.
More than 64.8 million shares were traded, worth VND887.9 billion or US$42.28 million.
With the gainers outnumbering the losers by 18-8, the VN30-Index, comprising the southern bourse's top stocks by capitalisation and liquidity, ended the morning trading at 593.87 points, 3.6 per cent higher.
The gain was posted by the HCM City Infrastructure Investment Corporation (CII) which earned VND1,200, or $0.057, to end at its ceiling price of VND18,500, or $0.88, per share.
The big gainers also included Vinamilk (VNM), FPT Group (FPT) and REE Corporation (REE).
Bao Viet Holding (BVH), Masan Group (MSN), Hoa Phat Group (HPG) and Hoa Sen Group (HSG) were among the losing stocks.
On the Ha Noi Exchange, the HNX-Index closed 0.73 per cent higher at 74.27 points, while the HNXFF-Index, comprising the northern bourse's top stocks, ended at 75.11 points, up 0.99 per cent.
Large-cap stocks posted huge gains with the HNX30-Index rising by 1.6 per cent to end at 147.95 points.
With 40.6 million shares changing hands, the trading value reached VND353.8 billion or $16.8 million. — VNS
