HA NOI (Biz Hub)— Shares finished in the green on both national stock exchanges this morning as markets enjoyed a strong start to the week.
The benchmark VN-Index on the HCM City Stock Exchange added 0.4 per cent to reach 502.77 points as gainers swamped losers by 144-46.
Trading value totalled VND791.7 billion (US$37.3 million) on a volume of 61.15 million shares.
Among the 30 leading shares tracked by the VN30, only Vietcombank (VCB) slipped back, falling 0.3 per cent. The index closed at 562.57 points, marking a 0.6 per cent rise from Friday's afternoon session.
On the Ha Noi Stock Exchange, the HNX-Index ended up 0.8 per cent, reaching 60.02 points.
The numbers of gainers outstripped decliners by two to one.
The HNX30, representing the exchange's top 30 stocks in terms of capitalisation and liquidity, also rallied 1.55 per cent to hit 116.62 points.
With around 29 million shares changing hands, the bourse's trading value fetched VND205.8 billion ($9.7 million). — VNS
