HA NOI (Biz Hub) — Shares inched lower this morning on the HCM Stock Exchange, with the benchmark VN-Index falling 0.1 per cent to close at 593.23 points.
The market condition was negative, with the losers outnumbering the gainers by 107 to 84 and the remaining 119 closing unchanged.
Large-cap shares closed mixed.
Vietcombank (VCB), VinGroup (VIC), Phu My Fertiliser (DPM) and Masan Group (MSN), which are among the top 30 shares by market capitalisation and liquidity, decreased by less than one per cent.
Some energy stocks bucked the trend, however, thanks to strong recovery made by global oil prices. The gainers included PV Gas (GAS), PetroVietnam Technical Services (PVS) and PetroVietnam Drilling Mud (PVC).
Almost 78 million shares, worth VND1.24 trillion (US$55.4 million), were traded by the end of the morning.
On the smaller exchange in Ha Noi, the HNX-Index edged up 0.1 per cent to end at 81.7 points. About 37.5 million shares, worth VND322.5 billion ($14.4 million), were traded.
