HA NOI – The equity markets closed higher on Friday, with the VN-Index on the HCM City Stock Exchange adding 1.2 per cent to end at 523.06 points.
The VN30 Index, tracking the city's leading 30 shares by capitalisation and liquidity, rose 0.5 per cent to close at 580.05 points thanks to a rally in more than half of the blue chips.
With 58.2 million shares changing hands, the market value hit VND881.6 billion (US$41.5 million).
On the Ha Noi Stock Exchange, the HNX-Index ended at 71.31 points on a total turnover of VND333.9 billion (US$3.36 million), increasing 0.2 per cent.
Large-cap stocks tracked by the HNX30 Index pushed the index 0.4 per cent higher to 136.40 points. – VNS
