Shares end higher for Japan, lower for others

HA NOI (Biz Hub) — Shares fell on both national exchanges today, with the HNX Index dropping 0.52 to 64.62 points and the VN Index losing 3.06 points to finish the week at 518.39.

Singapore shares also lost ground, with the Straits Times Index slipping 17.42 points to 3,318.59. In China, the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index lost 16 points to end at 2,300.60, and the Shenzhen Component Index dipped 121.24 points to 9,257.95

There was better news in Japan where Tokyo stocks closed up 1.37 per cent. The headline Nikkei 225 index added 185.51 points to close at 13,774.54, while the Topix index of first-section shares edged up 0.12 per cent higher to 1,135.78.— The Straits Times/China Daily/ANN/VNS
