HA NOI — Shares managed to rally in HCM City towards the end of this morning's session, while stocks in Ha Noi declined after investors had profited from increases.
On the HCM City Stock Exchange, the VN-Index added 0.23 per cent to reach 516.27 points. Losers were 1.5 times higher than gainers.
Dropping nearly 40 per cent over yesterday morning's level, market value totalled VND743.85 billion (US$35.4 million) on a volume of 47.9 million shares.
The VN30, tracking the southern bourse's top 30 shares, retreated 0.1 per cent to 578.76 points. Only seven of these 30 stocks advanced.
On the Ha Noi Stock Exchange, the HNX-Index closed at 64.37 points, a 0.14 per cent decrease. Losers overwhelmed gainers by 102-70.
More than 31 million shares were exchanged for VND246.56 billion ($11.7 million).
The HNX30, representing the bourse's leading shares in terms of capitalisation and liquidity, also slipped 0.04 per cent to 125.15 points. — VNS
