Shares dip in early trade

HA NOI (Biz Hub) — Shares failed to maintain yesterday gains and closed down on both the national stock exchanges this morning.

The VN-Index posted a slight loss of 0.12 per cent to end at 577.45 points.

The trading volume reached VND130 million shares with a total value of VND1.9 trillion or US$90.4 million.

Most of the blue chips closed in the red, dragging down the VN30-Index by 0.48 per cent to close at 647.34 points.

Those posting losses included Bao Viet Group (BVH), Da Nang Rubber Corporation (DRC), FPT Group (FPT), PetroVietnam Drilling (PVD) and Vingroup (VIC).

Among the 30 largest shares by capitalisation and liquidity, only five codes managed to register gains this morning.

On the Ha Noi Exchange, the HNX-Index lost 1.25 per cent to close at 81.3 points, while the HNXFF-Index lost 1.22 per cent to end at 80.52 points.

The HNX30-Index dropped 2.07 per cent to finish at 163.48 points.

The total trading value reached VND761 billion or $36.23 million on the exchange of more than 78 million shares. – VNS
