Shares continue to rise in HCM City but fall in Ha Noi

HA NOI (Biz Hub)– Shares were mixed this morning as the VN-Index increased and the HNX-Index declined.

On the HCM City Stock Exchange, the VN-Index added 0.2 per cent to reach 486.48 points. Losers, however, overwhelmed gainers by 82-76.

A volume of 18.46 million shares changed hands, totalling nearly VND348.5 billion (US$16.4 million).

Meanwhile, the VN30, tracking the southern bourse's 30 largest stocks in capitalisation and liquidity, retreated 0.05 per cent to 541.26 points - although rallying shares outnumbered tumbling shares.

On the Ha Noi Stock Exchange, the HNX-Index shed 0.35 per cent to close the morning session at 62.36 points.

Trading value and volume reached VND82.14 billion ($3.8 million) and 11.4 million shares.

Only 37 listed stocks managed to rally, while 74 shares decreased and more than 280 shares closed unchanged.

The HNX30, composed of the northern city's top shares, fell 0.2 per cent to 116.66 points. – VN
