Shares advance, VN-Index back to 1,190 point level

HÀ NỘI — Shares started on a positive note as both the VN-Index and HNX-Index rose on Friday morning.

On the Hồ Chí Minh Stock Exchange, the benchmark VN-Index rose 0.37 per cent to 1,191.79 points. In the morning session, investors poured more than VNĐ10.2 trillion into the southern bourse, with more than 477 million shares being traded.

The gain of large-cap stocks still contributed to the increase of the market in general. The VN30-Index increased 1.17 per cent to end the morning trading session at 1,182.7 points. Twenty of the 30 large-cap stocks in the VN30 basket advanced, while only seven declined.

Banking, financial and real estate sectors still attracted more interest from investors.

Sacombank (STB) was the biggest gainer with an increase of 6.97 per cent to VNĐ21.500. FLC Faros Construction Joint Stock Company (ROS) continued its rally, rising 6.71 per cent to VNĐ3,500. The stock almost hit the intra-day limit growth of 7 per cent yesterday.

On the Hà Nội Stock Exchange, the HNX-Index climbed back after ending lower on Thursday. The index posted an increase of 1.48 per cent to end Friday morning at 225.55 points. VNS
