HA NOI (Biz Hub)— Shares closed higher at this morning's sessions on both stock exchanges. The benchmark VN-Index on the HCM City Stock Exchange added 0.24 per cent to 476.75 points.
The VN30, tracking the city's leading shares by capitalisation and liquidity, also edged up 0.06 per cent to 531.49 points. Only steelmaker Hoa Phat (HPG), PetroVietnam Finance (PVF), Sacombank (STB) and Vinh Son-Song Hinh Hydropower (VSH) tumbled. PVF plunged to the floor price.
Although indices advanced, trading was sluggish, totalling just VND228.4 billion (US$10.7 million) on a volume of nearly 14.8 million shares.
On the Ha Noi Stock Exchange, the HNX-Index ended at 60.11 per cent, a 0.15 per cent rise compared to yesterday's session.
As only about 5.8 million shares changed hands, trading value was a low VND40 billion ($1.8 million).
The HNX30, composed of the bourse's top 30 shares, rallied by 0.3 per cent to 109.88 points. - VNS
