HA NOI (Biz Hub) — The State Bank of Viet Nam sold 25,800 taels of gold to 18 credit institutions in its 53rd gold auction on Friday .
At this auction, gold traded in the range of VND38.06-38.10million ($1,812-1,814) per tael. It brought the total gold sold to the market by SBV since March to nearly 55 tonnes.
On the local market, Saigon Jewellery Company (SJC) posted its gold prices at between 37.85-38.15 million ($1,802-1.816) on its website at 3pm, $10 per tael higher than yesterday.
On the kitco.com trading floor, the selling price for gold climbed to $1362.6 per ounce, or $1,642 a tael, leaving gold prices in Viet Nam $174 per tael higher than global rates.— VNS
