HA NOI (Biz Hub) — Fourteen credit institutions bought 19,700 taels of gold at the 60th auction held by the State Bank of Viet Nam at a price of VND37.92-38.00 million ($1,805-1,809) per tael today.
Gold prices also rose in local markets The Saigon Jewellery Company (SJC) posted a rate of VND37.78-38.08 million ($1,799-1,813) on its website at 3pm, while the kitco.com trading floor listed at $1,364.5 per ounce, or $1,644 per tael, leaving prices in Viet Nam $169 per tael higher than global rates.
Since the SBV's first gold auction in March, the bank has sold over 1.567 million taels or 60.6 tonnes of gold.— VNS
