Nikkei reaches 16,000, highest in six years

HA NOI (Biz Hub) — Japan's Nikkei 225 Stock Average closed above 16,000 for the first time in six years on Wednesday, with the NKY index adding 120.66 points to finish at 16,009.99.

Also, the Shanghai Composite Index advanced to its highest in three weeks, gaining 13.45 points to finish at 2,106.35.

Meanwhile, Vietnamese markets ended mixed on Wednesday.

The VN Index lost 1.20 points to finish at 504.42 in HCM City, while the Ha Noi HNX Index gained 0.09 points to end at 68.21 in the capital city. — VNS
