HA NOI (Biz Hub) — The Nikkei 225 climbed 271.42 points to close at 15,859.22 on Thursday, its highest close since Dec 2007 when the Topix Index (TPX) rose 12.58 points to finish at 1,263.07 in Tokyo.
In contrast, losing another 255.07 points, the Hang Seng Index (HSI) in Hong Kong closed at 22,888.75, while the Chinese benchmark Shanghai Stock Exchange Composite Index (SHCOMP) also declined 20.49 points to finish at 2,127.79.
Meanwhile, the Straits Times Index (STI) rose 8.45 points to finish at 3,070.2 in Singapore. Viet Nam's two burses ended higher as the VN Index gained 1.03 points to finish at 506.28 in HCM City and the Ha Noi HNX Index gained 0.68 points to end at 67.62 in the capital city.— VNS
