Most Asian markets end higher

HA NOI (Biz Hub) — The Asian market closed higher on December 24 to boost the Christmas mood in the region.

However, the investors in mainland China received bad news.

The Nikkei 225 added 219.09 points to reach 17,854.23, and the Topix Index gained 12.97 points to close at 1,426.02 in Tokyo.

The Hang Seng Index added 15.65 points to reach 23,349.34 in Hong Kong, while the Straits Times Index edged up 13.40 points to end at 3,345.91 in Singapore.

The two bourses in Viet Nam gained on the same day. The VN Index edged up 1.56 points to close at 539.44, and the HNX increased by 0.40 points to finish at 82.82.

The Shanghai Composite Index in mainland China, on the other hand, lost 60.08 points to close at 2,972.53. — VNS
