HA NOI (Biz Hub) — Most Asian indices closed on a high note on March 17, except in Hong Kong and Singapore.
While the Hang Seng Index lost 48.06 points to close at 23,901.49 in Hong Kong and the Straits Times Index slipped 4.39 points to end at 3,371.65 in Singapore.
The Shanghai Composite Index rose 53.54 points to close at 3,502.85 in mainland China.
The Nikkei 225 added 190.94 points to close at 19,437.00, while the Topix Index gained 12.29 points to close at 1,570.50 in Tokyo.
The two bourses in Viet Nam also ended higher on the same day. The VN Index edged up 0.96 points to close at 581.76, while the HNX also gained 0.28 points to finish at 85.36. —VNS
