Markets end mixed on sluggish trading

HA NOI (Biz Hub) — Shares were mixed this morning on the two stock exchanges, as sluggish trading continued to drain liquidity.

The VN-Index on the HCM Stock Exchange inched up just 0.06 per cent to close at 562.83 points, while the VN30, which tracks the top 30 shares by market value and liquidity, increased 0.09 per cent to stand at 594.55 points.

Only seven stocks saw trading of more than one million shares this morning, with money focused on realty stocks such as HCM City Infrastructure Investment Co (CII), FLC Group (FLC), Dat Xanh Real Estate Service and Construction Corp (DXG) and NBB Investment Corp (NBB).

Furniture maker Duc Long Gia Lai Co (DLG) is temporarily leading the trading here with 2.45 million of its shares being exchanged, but its price dived five per cent to end at VND9,600 per share.

Only 29 million shares, worth more than VND549 billion (US$25.4 million), were traded on the exchange by the end of the morning.

On the Ha Noi Stock Exchange, the HNX-Index dropped 0.23 per cent to stand at 82.70 points, while the market value was very low at just VND228 billion ($10.6 million).

KLF Joint Venture Global Investment Co (KLF) was the most active code, with 2.6 million of its shares being traded at VND9,000 per share.
