HA NOI (Biz Hub) — Japan's Nikkei 225 added 416.49 points to reach 14,865.67 and the Topix Index also edged up 27.75 points to close at 1,222.31 in Tokyo on February 21.
The Hang Seng Index also gained 174.16 points to reach 22,568.24 in Hong Kong. But the Shanghai Composite Index in mainland China closed down 25.09 points to finish at 2,113.69.
In South-East Asia, the Straits Times Index gained 14.13 points to end at 3,100.8 in Singapore, while the two local bourses ended with mixed results. The VN Index slipped 0.47 points to end at 570.57 in HCM City and the HNX Index gained 0.66 points to reach 80.17 in the capital city of Viet Nam. — VNS
