HA NOI (Biz Hub) — The Nikkei 225 added 450.15 points to reach 14,843.2 and lead the Asian market on February 18, while the Topix Index climbed 31.95 points to close at 1,224.00 in Tokyo.
The Hang Seng Index also gained 51.78 points to reach 22,587.72 in Hong Kong, but its fellow index in mainland China, the Shanghai Composite Index, declined 16.35 points to finish at 2,119.07.
In Southeast Asia, the Straits Times Index gained 0.26 to end at3,069.5 in Singapore, while two bourses in Viet Nam ended higher. The VN Index gained 4.36 points to reach 574.56 in Ho Chi Minh City, and the HNX Index added 1.40 points to close at 81.04 in the capital city of Viet Nam.— VNS
