Major Asian stocks fall, but VN bucks trend

HA NOI (Biz Hub) — While major Asian indexes fell heavily, the VN Index in Viet Nam ended higher on November 17.

The Nikkei 225 fell 517.03 points to finish at 16,973.80, and the Topix Index lost 34.28 points to end the day at 1,366.13 in Tokyo.

In Hong Kong, the Hang Seng Index lost 290.30 points to close the day at 23,797.08, while in China, the Shanghai Composite Index fell by 4.82 points to stand at 2,474.01.

The Straits Times Index closed down 27.65 points to end the day at 3,288.02 in Singapore.

As the exception, the VN Index added 0.57 points to close at 600.93, while the HNX edged down 0.13 points to finish at 90.87. — VNS
