HA NOI (Biz Hub) — Most of the Asian markets closed higher on January 9, but the Chinese investors posted losses.
The Nikkei 225 added 30.63 points to reach 17,197.73, and the Topix Index gained 2.91 points to close at 1,380.58 in Tokyo. The Hang Seng Index rose by 84.42 points to reach 23,919.95 in Hong Kong.
The two bourses in Viet Nam ended higher on the same day. The VN Index edged up 16.26 points to close at 569.73, and the HNX added 1.54 points to finish at 85.65.
The Shanghai Composite Index in mainland China lost 8.04 points to stand at 3,285.41, while the Straits Times Index lost 6.67 points to end at 3,338.44 in Singapore. — VNS
