HA NOI (Biz Hub) — Hong Kong closed higher on Valentine's Day with the Hang Seng Index rising 132.88 points to 22,298.41, while the Shanghai Composite Index climbed 17.45 points to finish at 2,115.85 in mainland China.
The Nikkei 225, however, lost 221.71 points to reach 14,313.03, while the Topix Index slipped 15.92 points to hit 1,183.82 in Tokyo, and the Straits Times Index slipped 1.19 points to end at 3,038.7 in Singapore.
Two bourses in Viet Nam ended higher. The VN Index edged up 2.04 points to reach 572.22 in Ho Chi Minh City, and the HNX Index gained 1.07 points to close at 77.70 in the capital city.— VNS
