Japanese shares edge up on Wednesday

HA NOI (Biz Hub) — Japanese shares kept going up while Hong Kong stocks stayed flat in Wednesday's market.

In Tokyo, the Nikkei 225 added 111.94 to reach 14,337.31 while the Topix Index (TPX) gained 9.58 points to end at 1,192.16. Similarly, the VN Index rose 2.73 points to end at 502.52 in HCM City, while Viet Nam's capital city saw the HNX Index nudge up a mere 0.36 points to end at 63.28.

The Hang Seng Index (HSI) slid down 2.01 points to end at 23,036.94 but the benchmark Shanghai Stock Exchange Composite Index (SHCOMP) lost a total of 17.63 points stopping at 2,139.61. In Singapore, the Straits Times Index (STI) declined 0.25 points to finish at 3,205.3. — VNS
