HA NOI (Biz Hub) — Share prices in the Nikkei 225 achieved a seven-year high by adding more than two per cent as most share prices in markets across the Asia-Pacific region posted an increase.
The exceptions were in mainland China, where the Shanghai Composite Index fell by four points to end at 2,469.67, and in Singapore, where the Straits Times Index declined by 11.26 points to end at 3,289.74.
In Japan, the Nikkei 225 climbed by 343.58 points to reach 17,124.11, and the Topix Index gained 15.10 points to end at 1,375.21.
In Hong Kong, the Hang Seng Index increased by 63.58 points to close at 23, 808.28. In Viet Nam, the VN index added 2.11 points to close at 604.23, and the HNX edged up by 0.35 point to finish at 88.71.— VNS
