HA NOI (Biz Hub) — Hong Kong's Hang Seng Index (HSI) rose 257.99 points to close at 23,179.55, leading Asian markets on Tuesday, while the Chinese benchmark Shanghai Stock Exchange Composite Index (SHCOMP) also added 3.20 points to finish at 2,092.91.
In Tokyo, the Nikkei 225 lost a slight 4.00 points to reach 15,866.42 on Tuesday, while Japan's Topix Index (TPX) slipped 4.09 points to finish at 1,257.55.
In the southeast, the Straits Times Index (STI) also rose 11.07 points to finish at 3,127.29 in Singapore, while two bourses in Viet Nam ended lower. The VN Index lost 3.06 points to finish at 505.62 in HCM City, and the HNX Index declined 0.18 points to end at 68.12 Ha Noi.— VNS
