Hong Kong unrest pulls down Hang Seng Index

HA NOI (Biz Hub) — The unrest in Hong Kong pulled down the Hang Seng Index by an additional 296.23 points to close at 22,932.98 on September 30.

Meanwhile, the Shanghai Composite Index in mainland China rallied 6.16 points to close at 2,363.87.

In Japan, the Nikkei 225 closed down 137.12 points to finish at 16,173.52, and the Topix Index lost 11.01 points to end at 1,326.29. In Singapore, the Straits Times Index edged down 12.98 points to stand at 3,276.74.

In Viet Nam, the VN index lost 0.98 points to close at 598.80, and the HNX edged up by 0.06 points to finish at 88.63. — VNS
