Hong Kong market hits the skids

HA NOI (Biz Hub) — Hong Kong's Hang Seng Index (HSI) was the biggest loser in Asia on Monday, slipping 60.11 points to end at 23,189.62, while other markets made little headway.

Also in China, the benchmark Shanghai Stock Exchange Composite Index (SHCOMP) stayed flat, gaining just 0.07 points to hit 2,149.64. In Singapore, The Straits Times Index (STI) gained 2.47 points to finish at 3,203.9.

Viet Nam's VN Index declined 0.01 points to end at 497.07 in HCM City, while the HNX Index rose by 0.35 points to 62. 43 in the capital city.

With the country on vacation for Culture Day in Japan, the Nikkei 225 remained unmoved at14,201.57 and the Topix Index (TPX) stayed at183.03 in Tokyo.— VNS
