HA NOI (Biz Hub) — The Hang Seng Index in Hong Kong jumped by 107.48 points to close at 23,422.52 on Tuesday amid a fall in the share prices of other Asian stock markets.
It was the third straight day for gains following the winding down of a pro-democracy protest that closed parts of the Chinese city last week.
In mainland China, the Shanghai Composite Index remained the same on the last day of the National Day Golden Week holiday at 2,357.71.
In Japan, the Nikkei 225 lost 107.12 points to finish at 15,783.83, and the Topix Index slipped by 5.51 points to end at 1,290.89. In Singapore, the Straits Times Index lost 9.25 points to end at 3,244.0.
In Viet Nam, the markets closed mixed, with the VN index losing by 0.34 points to end at 614.08 and the HNX edging up by 0.32 points to finish at 91.25. — VNS
