HA NOI (Biz Hub) — The Ha Noi Stock Exchange (HNX) reported that it auctioned over VND15.7 trillion, or US$747.62 million, worth of Government bonds, in May.
Of the amount, the State Treasury raised VND15.5 trillion, or $738.10 million, and the Viet Nam Bank for Social Policies gained VND200 billion, or $9.52 million.
The total value marked a 19 per cent month-on-month increase on the primary market.
Bid interest rates were 5.58 to 5.70 per cent per year for two-year bonds, 6.07 to 6.20 per cent for three-year bonds and 7.10 to 7.60 per cent for five-year bonds. For 10-year bonds the interest rate was 8.7 per cent.
On the secondary market, over 560 million State bonds changed hands with a total value of VND58.6 trillion, or $2.79 billion.
Foreign investors bought bonds worth about VND8.73 trillion, or $415.86 million, and sold VND12.05 trillion, or $573.67 million. — VNS
