Eximbank's credit declines in Q1

HA NOI (Biz Hub) ― Eximbank posted a 2 per cent year-on-year decline in lending in the first quarter of 2014.

In the latest financial reports, the bank reported that its bad debts had reached about VND1.96 trillion, or US$93.33 million. This represented 2.38 per cent of the bank's total outstanding loans, up from 1.98 per cent recorded at the end of last year.

Deposits also dropped 5.2 per cent year-on-year in the quarter to VND75.35 trillion, or $3.59 billion. Total assets fell by 9.6 per cent to VND153.46 trillion, or $7.31 billion.

After-tax profits increased by VND346 billion, or $16.48 million, an increase of 18.5 per cent. ― VNS
