HA NOI (Biz Hub) — Chinese stock indices continued to fall while shares in other Asian markets posted moderate gains.
In China, the Shanghai Stock Exchange Composite Index dropped by 6.63 points to close at 2,311.68 while Hong Kong's Hang Seng Index lost 42.72 points to end at 24,662.64.
Meanwhile, the VN-Index inched up 0.19 point to end at 628.99 on the HCM City Stock Exchange while the HNX-Index gained 0.55 point to finish at 88.41 on the Ha Noi Stock Exchange.
In Japan, the Tokyo Stock Exchange Tokyo Price Index added 4.45 points to finish at 1,331.24, and the Nikkei 225 closed higher by 120.42 points to end at 15,909.20.
In Singapore, the Straits Times Index closed 8.85 points higher to end at 3,347.48. — VNS
