HA NOI (Biz Hub) —Chinese shares ended down on Thursday, but Tokyo investors enjoyed better results.
Hong Kong shares sank to their lowest close since early September with the Hang Seng Index (HSI) slipping 160.58 points to 22,839.37 and the benchmark Shanghai Stock Exchange Composite Index (SHCOMP) declined 18.78 points to 2,164.32.
Investors in Viet Nam also saw lower scores with the HNX Index declining 0.24 points to end at 61.89 in the capital while the VN Index lost 2.88 points to close at 501.17 in HCM City.
In Japan, the Nikkei 225 gained 60.36 points to end at 14,486.41 and the Topix Index (TPX) added 7.37 points to finish at 1,203.35.
The Straits Times Index (STI) gained a further 13.15 points to finish at 3,217.9 in Singapore.—VNS
