HA NOI (Biz Hub) — Asian indices ended higher on March 18, but those in South East Asia closed down.
The Nikkei 225 added 107.48 points to close at 19,544.48, while the Topix Index gained 11.96 points to close at 1,582.46 in Tokyo.
The Hang Seng Index jumped 218.59 points to close at 24,120.08 in Hong Kong, and the Shanghai Composite Index also increased 74.46 points to close at 3,577.30 in mainland China.
On the other hand, the Straits Times Index dropped 4.53 points to end at 3365.42 in Singapore.
Vietnamese bourses closed down on the same day. The VN Index edged down 3.08 points to close at 578.68, while the HNX also slipped 0.31 points to finish at 85.05. —VNS
