HA NOI (Biz Hub) — Two bourses in Viet Nam kept rising this morning, amid the downward trend of the global market.

The VN-Index added 1.59 or 0.28 per cent to reach 560.96 points on the HCM Stock Exchange, and the HNX index added 0.10 points to close at 78.83 on the Ha Noi Stock Exchange.

Hoang Anh Gia Lai Agriculture (HNG) led the trading volume on HoSE, with about 4.9 million of its shares being exchanged, while Quang Anh Minerals (KSQ) and A Cuong Minerals (ACM) led the northern bourse in terms of volume.

The rise of large-cap stocks such as Vinamilk (VNM), Vietcombank (VCB), Vingroup (VIC) and Viet Nam Gas Corporation (GAS) contributed to the gains in the morning.

At the same time, money flow went to small-cap stocks in the mineral industry this morning. BGM shares continued to rise, while the shares of Fecon Minerals (FCM), Visaco Investment and Minerals (VMI), Binh Dinh Minerals (BMC) and KSQ performed better.

Experts said following reports that some companies in the mineral industry would open up to allow more ownership to foreign investors, the shares would rise in the future.

Banking and securities stocks, which rose this morning after the losses yesterday, also added to the market gains. — VNS
