HA NOI (Biz Hub) — As an exception to the day, the Shanghai Composite Index added 45.95 points to end at 3,794.11 in mainland China, though other Asian shares closed down on Wednesday, August 19.
The Nikkei 225 lost 331.84 points to end at 20,222.63 in Tokyo, while the Hang Seng Index fell 307.12 points to close at 23,167.85 in Hong Kong. Also, the Singapore Straits Times Index lost 8.40 points to end at 3,049.65.
The VN Index lost 2.4 points to close at 577.82, while the HNX Index increased 0.07 points to close at 79.67. — VNS
