HA NOI (Biz Hub) — Asian markets, including the two bourses in Viet Nam, ended mixed on Wednesday.

The VN index lost 0.29 points to close at 628.77, and the HNX gained 0.20 points to finish at 85.89 in the capital city.

The Straits Times Index closed up 18.44 points at 3,341.46 in Singapore.

Hong Kong stocks ended 0.62 per cent lower Wednesday, reversing earlier gains, as profit-takers cashed in after the market hit a six-year high at the start of the week.

The Hang Seng Index eased 155.75 points to 24,918.75 on turnover of HK$67.56 billion (US$8.72 billion).

In China the Shanghai Composite Index edged up 0.11 per cent, or 2.36 points, to 2,209.47 on turnover of 104.1 billion yuan ($16.9 billion).

Tokyo stocks closed flat on Wednesday with the Nikkei 225 index edged up 0.09 per cent, or 13.60 points, to 15,534.82 while the Topix index of all first-section shares rose 0.07 per cent, or 0.91 points, to 1,285.92. — VNS
