HA NOI (Biz Hub) — Asian shares closed on a mixed note on August 17.
The Nikkei 225 added 100.81 points to end at 20,620.26 in Tokyo while the Shanghai Composite Index rose 28.33 points to end at 3,993.67 in mainland China.
On the other hand, the Hang Seng Index slipped 176.38 points to close at 23,814.65 in Hong Kong while Singapore's Straits Times Index also lost 46.90 points to end at 3,067.35In Viet Nam, the VN Index lost 15.88 points to close at 573.15, and the HNX Index fell by 1.15 points to close at 78.99. — VNS
