HA NOI (Biz Hub) — Asian markets closed on a mixed note on May 18.
The Nikkei 225 gained 157.35 points to end at 19,890.27, while the Topix Index added 19.55 points to close at 1,626.66.
Meanwhile, the Hang Seng Index lost 298.85 points to close at 27,532.43 in Hong Kong, and the Shanghai Composite Index reduced 25.20 points to close at 4,283.49 in mainland China.
The Strait Times Index decreased 3.53 points to end at 3,459.57 in Singapore, while two burses in Viet Nam ended lower. The VN Index slipped 8.49 points to close at 528.95, and the HNX Index lost 1.70 points to close at 76.51 in Viet Nam.— VNS
