SINGAPORE — Singapore shares ended higher on Monday with the Straits Times Index gaining 4.93 points to 3,454.23. Some 2.95 billion shares, valued at S$1.42 billion were traded. Gainers outnumbered losers 267 to 198.
Malaysian shares closed up on Monday with the Kuala Lumpur Composite Index gaining 7.99 points to 1,777.15. Some 2.95 billion lots, valued at RM2.82 billion were traded. Losers outnumbered gainers 845 to 163.
Chinese shares continued to rally on Monday after the rise from the previous trading day. The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index gained 0.75 per cent, or 17.12 points, to end at 2,299.99. The Shenzhen Component Index rose 0.66 percent, or 60.88 points, to 9,307.15. — The Strait Times/China Daily/ANN
