HA NOI (Biz Hub) — Leading the Asian markets on January 16, the Hang Seng Index rose 84.41 points to end at 22,986.41 in Hong Kong.
The Shanghai Composite Index added 0.35 points to finish at 2,023.70 in mainland China, while two bourses in Viet Nam also ended higher. The VN Index rose 6.86 points to reach 533.54 in HCM City and the HNX Index added 0.38 points to end at 73.07 in the capital city.
On the other side, the Nikkei 225 lost 61.53 to end at 15,747.2, while the Topix Index also slipped 0.13 points to close at 1,294.39 in Tokyo.
The Straits Times Index also edged down 2.81 points to end at 3,140.4 in Singapore. — VNS
