Asian markets see bad losses

HA NOI (Biz Hub) — While the Ha Noi Stock market held firm, other Asian shares suffered badly on Thursday. In Ha Noi, the HNX Index rose 0.32 points to 65.64, while in HCM City the VN Index lost 3.15 points to close at 515,09.

After the local three-day weekend, most Chinese shares retreated as the Hang Seng Index lost another 467.62 points to finish at 20,887.04. In Hong Kong, the Shenzhen Stock Exchange Component Index lost 331.18 points to rest at 8,432.43, while the Shanghai Composite Index lost 60.60 points closing at 2,148.36.

Singapore shares also fell with the Straits Times Index down 23.24 points to 3,130.24.

Investors in Tokyo faced huge losses as the Nikkei 225 dropped 843.95 points to 12,445.38 and the Topix index slipped 52.37 points to 1,044.17. — VNS
