HA NOI (Biz Hub) — The Nikkei 225 lost 254.92 points to close at 14,808.85, while the Topix Index also lost 19.05 points to finish at 1,196.84 in Tokyo on April 7.

The Hang Seng Index declined 132.93 points to end at 22,377.15 in Hong Kong while the Shanghai Composite Index in mainland China stayed unchanged at 2,058.83, as the stock market is closed for the local Qing Ming Jie holiday.

In Southeast Asia, while the Straits Times Index edged down 19.13 points to end at 3,193.6 in Singapore, two bourses in Viet Nam ended higher. The VN Index added 7.53 points to close at 600.57 in HCM City, while the HNX Index also gained 0.66 points to end at 87.32 in the capital city .— VNS
