HA NOI (Biz Hub) — Major Asian indices closed upwards on April 8.
Leading the market, the Hang Seng Index jumped 961.22 points to reach 26,236.86 in Hong Kong.
The Nikkei 225 increased 149.27 points to close at 19,789.81, while the Topix Index added 9.92 points to end at 1,588.47 in Tokyo.
The Shanghai Composite Index increased 33.43 points to reach 3,994.81 in mainland China.
However, the Straits Times Index lost 4.94 points to close at 3,460.68 in Singapore.
The two bourses in Viet Nam ended lower on the same day. The VN Index slipped 0.39 points to close at 547.72, while the HNX also decreased 0.36 points to finish at 81.96 . —VNS
